Sonia Lee and Michael Tsalka
The Lee-Tsalka Duo is an ensemble dedicated to the performance of duet and duo music written for historical keyboard instruments, including the harpsichord, fortepiano, clavichord, and organ. Its repertoire spans three centuries, from the masterworks by such composers as William Byrd, Gaspard Le Roux, François Couperin, and Johann Sebastian Bach, to the newly discovered sources, such as historical transcriptions of the music of George Frideric Handel, Johann Christoph Kellner, and Peter August.
Both members Sonia Lee and Michael Tsalka have won prizes at international competitions and have presented recitals, masterclasses, lectures, and workshops throughout Europe, USA and Canada, Latin America, Israel, and Asia. The duo's recent and upcoming projects include concert appearances in Philadelphia, New Brunswick, Halle, Mexico City, and Buenos Aires, and a modern premiere CD recording of transcriptions of three concerti of Johann Christoph Kellner.
